South Africa’s HONEYMOAN write modern, original, alternative-pop that is fun, fresh, and exciting; exploring common trials of youth/early adulthood, love, lust and pursuing one’s creative passions at all cost, despite the realities of living under Capitalism.
The project started out as a “just for fun” jam session that pulled members Alison Rachel, Skye MacInnes, Josh Berry and Kenan Tatt from various bands in Cape Town’s alternative/indie/psych-rock scene. After just a few times playing together though an exciting sound had started to develop and HONEYMOAN fast became something much more focussed and ambitious.
After an overwhelmingly positive response to their first release in early 2018, the band jumped straight in to working on new material. The fruits of their labour are revealed in a stunning four track EP titled ‘Body,’ four well polished and thoroughly danceable tracks exploring themes of technology/social media, eating disorders and unrequited lust.
With influences ranging from Tame Impala to Drake, the band have carved an honest and feel-good space for themselves in the indie scene.
